Q:  Is my period “normal”?

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding is extremely common. Symptoms can include: excessive and heavy bleeding, bleeding at unusual times (in between periods, after intercourse, etc.), periods that last an unusually long time (seven days or longer), and inconsistent menstrual cycles. There are many different causes of AUB and there are multiple treatment options, and our expert providers can help provide a diagnosis and recommend a course of treatment that will give you relief. Do not hesitate to come and see us and reclaim your life from your AUB!

Q: How often should I visit by ob/gyn?

You are encouraged to see your ob/gyn every year for an annual wellness exam. This visit is almost always 100% covered by insurance (check your plan), so this important screening tool should not cost you anything! Why should you see your ob/gyn provider every year? In addition to determining if you are due for a cervical cancer screening test (HPV or PAP), you and your provider can discuss your overall health and any concerns with your periods or abnormal bleeding, your breast health (including necessary screenings like mammograms), birth control or issues like pelvic pain or pain with sex. Your provider will also be able to do an overall health screening, including vaccines, blood pressure, and any other recommended lab screenings, like cholesterol or blood sugar. In short, your annual visit with your ob/gyn is a vital part of your health journey and should not be missed! You can schedule by calling 717-397-8177 or you can even schedule directly online at www.maygrant.com

Q: What is the best way to get in touch with my provider?

If you are experiencing an emergency, please contact 911. If you have an urgent situation and would like to be seen right away, we have urgent appointments set aside every day. If you have a question or need clarification or education, we have a dedicated nurse care coordinator team on call during business hours. You can make an appointment or ask to speak to an NCC by calling our main number at 717-397-8177. If the lines are busy, please leave a message, and you WILL be called back. Also, we have a robust messaging system through our patient portal—for less urgent questions, you can send your provider a direct message, and you will get a response back through the portal. If you do not currently have an active patient portal, please call the office, and we will get one set up for you through your email.
