Why I Love to Eat Out

It’s not just the great food, trying things I have never eaten before, or taking a much-needed break. It’s the connection to my friends, family, and my community.

It’s been said many times this past year that much has changed since Covid19 began. Although this is very true, a lot of new and wonderful relationships have been formed, along with some really great friendships— and co-worker connections that have found their way towards a new beginning.

As I meet up with friends, family, business associates, or co-workers whether to have an impromptu meeting or a meal, I am reminded of how important a sense of connection is. I also realize how fun it is to be sitting together, smiling, laughing, planning, and sharing our lives once again. Gratitude seems to be the main course served now as an integral part of the menu. Good food, good company, and great fun are always a recipe for creating ambiance and a warm and friendly atmosphere.

There are so many amazing places to eat in Lancaster. You can stop and grab a hot cup of coffee, breakfast, or a bagel on the go. Enjoy a fresh salad for lunch, or try some great Mexican food or bbq chicken, healthy fish, or a nice steak for dinner out. The choices are endless. My favorite meal recently was at a little Mexican cafe with tableside guacamole, and impeccable service.

It feels like we are not as rushed now, or as pressured as we once were. It’s as if the world has slowed down now while we take that extra minute to appreciate food, friends, family, and good health.

Eating out meals out is a great way to try something new. It means I can smile at the server and know they are providing a great service and giving their all. And, in spite of staff shortages, or longer hours,
everyone seems more than willing to smile right back at me.

I love to eat out because, for me, the acronym E.A.T. stands for Enjoyment, Attitude, and Time. That is something we all seem to appreciate just a bit a little bit more these days.
