Lancaster Health News is proud to announce that Members 1st Federal Credit Union, a full-service financial institution serving members and communities for more than 73 years, was recently named a Forbes Best-In-State Credit Union for the third consecutive year.
Presented by Forbes and the national market research firm Statista Inc., this prestigious award is given to financial institutions that have shown excellent leadership and success over the past 12 months.
Only three percent of credit unions across the country are recognized each year.
“This recognition from Forbes and Statista has come to mean a great deal to us the past three years,” said Members 1st President & CEO George Nahodil. “Knowing that our member-owners play a direct role in determining the organizations who are fortunate enough to be named a Best-in-State Credit Union is what makes this recognition special. Everything we do is in the best interest of our members, so we are humbled to know they are happy with the personalized service we provide to them every day.”
To determine the 2023 Best-In-State Credit Unions, approximately 31,000 U.S. residents were surveyed and asked to name banks and credit unions where they have or previously had a checking or savings account. From there, contributors were told to evaluate these financial institutions based on criteria such as customer service, the quality of the financial advice representatives offer, whether fees are transparent and reasonable, ease of navigating the company website, on-location branch services, and the overall level of trust the companies inspired.
Across the entire nation, 147 credit unions were named to the annual list. Online reviews and rankings given between March 2020 and April 2023 were evaluated for each credit union to determine an overall sentiment analysis. These reviews and ratings accounted for 20 percent of the scoring, while the aforementioned surveys accounted for 80 percent.
“We congratulate all the credit unions from across the country who were recognized as a Best-In-State Credit Union, especially those in Pennsylvania who share the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’,” added Mike Wilson, chief experience officer for Members 1st. “It is an honor to be recognized alongside many other financial institutions who are giving back to our local economy.”
