Lancaster residents are focusing on health, wellness and fitness, which ranks high on the states ‘what matters most’ priority list.
This is evident by the turn-out of guests who attend the bi-annual open house hosted by Universal Athletic Club (UAC). Twice a year, The Universal Athletic Club located at 2323 Oregon Pike in Lancaster hosts an open house inviting the community to tour their facility, meet with other guests and connect with business sponsors- while enjoying a fun-filled day.
Locals who attend the no-charge bi-annual event enjoy food, prizes, and DJ music along with a complimentary breakfast from Oregon Dairy- including a delicious lunch from Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar along with a variety of beverages and desserts. “The food is amazing, and the sponsors are all really friendly and helpful” shared several attendees. “This is one of my very favorite local events”, said Lauren Gerson, Media Director for LHN news.
At a previous UAC open house event, Karyn Hinkle, owner of Hinkle Insurance, won a $450.00 gift certificate courtesy of the Downtown Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square located in the heart of historic downtown.
Lancaster Health News announced the special prize which included a one nights stay at the Downtown Marriott, a complimentary dinner for two at the Plough and a complimentary breakfast buffet for two at Two Kings. “It was amazing” said Hinkle, “The room, the food, and the service are all excellent”.
This past Veterans day (11/11/23 ) the UAC open house was extra special as locals and visitors who toured made their way through vendor booths meeting community businesses. “ It was really exciting to see the Manheim Township K9 unit attending with one of their beloved canines. ’Odin’ the beloved K-9 brought along his handler Lucas Starsinic”, said Donna Boomsma, Director of Corporate Sales for the Universal Athletic Club.
Some of the vendor booths on hand included Dover Insurance, Gardner’s Mattresses & More, Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar, who provide the guests a complimentary lunch buffet. Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar is located on Fruitville Pike in Lancaster and serves locally sourced farm fresh food.
Also on hand were Dance instructors from Fred Astaire, who were answering questions and providing information on upcoming events and dance lesson opportunities.
When Donna Boomsma, Director of Corporate Sales, who hosts the UAC open house stopped by the Lancaster Health News booth, she greeted club member Stacey Martinez who suddenly broke out in a huge smile.
Martinez, a fitness enthusiast had met her husband Nelson, an instructor at the Club over 13 years ago. Now married with two children, they are a busy family of four. Martinez remains an active UAC member and has a successful career as a Doula, providing both therapy and emotional support to moms before during and after the pregnancy cycle through her Lancaster based company, Stronger Together, LLC.
Throughout December Lancaster Health News will be featuring a variety of dedicated businesses who want to reach out and offer additional support and services to the health and wellness community.
“When it comes to health and wellness”, Lancaster Health News executive, Mel Jordan, shared “Our VIP Community partners have become both friends and family, as together we continue to encourage the community in their lifelong journey of health and wellness”.
We wish to thank everyone for their participation.
