Superheroes to ‘drop in’ on patients at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital

HERSHEY, Pa. — Three famed superheroes will band together for their most important mission of the year: to bring smiles to the faces of children at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.

Captain America, Spiderman, and Superman will rappel down the side of the hospital to the cheers of children, their families, and other onlookers.

Day/Date:  Wednesday, Aug. 31

Time:  9:15 a.m. (first descent is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.)

Location:  Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, 600 University Drive, Hershey, PA

Typically, these superheroes are mild-mannered window-washers with Harrisburg-based Vancena Property Service. This will mark the sixth time the “superhero window washers” have visited the Children’s Hospital.

This year’s event coincides with “Superhero Day” at the Children’s Hospital, which will also include staff dressing up as their favorite superheroes.

Media interested in attending this event should contact Barbara Schindo by 9 a.m. on Aug. 31. Due to the presence of young patients and their families, all attendees – including members of the media – will be required to wear a mask.
